Don Shula On The Super Bowl
January 26, 2009 – 12:32 pm by Michael BeanFormer Hall of Fame NFL head coach Don Shula talked to 790 The Zone about his own Super Bowl legacy – he took six teams to the Big Game – as well as the upcoming Super Bowl XLIII between the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Before getting on to this year’s game, Shula talks about how he was disappointed that his Marino-led Dolphins teams weren’t able to make the Super Bowl after Marino’s second season.
‘I thought although we got beat in the Super Bowl that year, we were going to be in a lot more. But it didn’t happen for one reason or another we just didn’t make it back to another Super Bowl with Marino as our QB. That’s probably one of the regrets I have in my coaching career.’
