David Wells Reacts To Torre

January 30, 2009 – 7:36 pm by Michael Bean

Former World Series winning SP David Wells, who played for Joe Torre for several years in New York, spent some time on The Mason & Ireland Show on ESPN Radio Los Angeles Thursday to talk about Joe Torre’s tell-all book about his time managing in the Bronx. Enough from me, let’s hear from Wells, beginning with this opening segment from Boomer. It gets juicier though, trust me:

‘I found out last night he was bashing me and Kevin Brown. He tried to make Kevin Brown’s life miserable. Nobody tries to make anyone’s life miserable out there on the diamond. You’re out there for one reason and one reason only and that’s to win. Even if you don’t like the guy, you don’t try to bash him and degrade him and bring him down. And that’s kind of what Joe’s angle was in the book. If you had that many problems with those guys why didn’t you face them while they were there.’
