He Basically Was The Mitchell Report
February 12, 2009 – 10:59 am by Jimmy ShapiroIf not for Kirk Radomski, the Mitchell Report most likely would have been a complete waste of time. He came forward late in the process and gave Senator Mitchell and his investigators his experiences and knowledge about steroids in MLB.
I’m not trying to make Kirk Radomski out to be a martyr, because he’s the furthest from that. He sold drugs illegally. I do know many clubhouse guys and they’ll do anything for these players to make an extra buck and to befriend these guys. It could be things as simple as picking up their dry cleaning, or it could be handing a note and a phone number to a hottie in the stands, or it could be getting performance enhancing drugs.
Radomski wrote a book that is just coming out called, “Bases Loaded”. After hearing his interview on Thursday on WFAN in New York, I have no doubt it will be an interesting read.
Radomski rails against MLB, talks about Roger Clemans and Brian McNamee, and still champions using growth hormones:
“We can still buy a pack of cigarettes that kills 20,000 people a day, but I don’t know. In ten years from now, I’m hoping when I get older that I’m able to use growth hormones because I’ll live a better life. A lot healthier life. You actually slow father time down.”

I’ve always been partial to the long, commercial-free interview that Radomski did at
