Mike Leach and Texas Tech End Contract Stalemate

For awhile there, it looked as if the unthinkable might happen for denizens of the Texas Tech Red Raiders football program. Could Mike Leach really have flirted with the possibility of being fired for not budging in the contract extension negotiations that went on between his agents and the university the last couple of months? Leach would never be so dramatic as to say as much. That was the case when he joined The Herd with Colin Cowherd on ESPN Friday to talk about what went down, what both sides ultimately budged on, and how he hopes to take the Red Raiders blossoming program to even greater heights with now that he has a 5-year extension out of the way.
“We ended up where it was kind of bureaucracy on steroids, and then eventually, we were able to work it all out.”
