Sports Radio Is More Than Just Sports
March 4, 2009 – 9:20 am by Jimmy ShapiroFor anyone who has read this site, it’s obvious I champion the sports radio cause. I’ve always felt that sports radio gets a bit of a bad rap. Talking for 15-20 hours a week and attempting to be entertaining and relevant is extremely difficult. There are great hosts and awful hosts just like there are great and awful columnists and there are great and awful blogs.
Ok, off my soapbox. Anyway, one of the benefits of sports radio having their main demo being 25-54 year old males is they get a lot of interesting guests in the world of entertainment that are trying to reach that audience. Periodically here at SRI, we’ll post some of those interviews. Check out the interviews below with comedians Joan Rivers, Jimmy Fallon, and Dave Attell along with filmmaker Spike Lee and actor/bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno.
