Former Heat G Tim Hardaway On The NCAA Tournament
March 23, 2009 – 2:19 am by Michael BeanTired of hearing the usual talking heads discussing the NCAA Tournament? I kind of am, so let’s check in with former Miami Heat PG Tim Hardaway, who is always a good listen, even when he’s not talking about his disdain of gay folks.. He joined the Justin Zaslow Show on 790 The Ticket in Miami on Friday to talk about the NCAA Tournament, and his acumen of the collegiate hoops landscape is pretty damn impressive.
After rattling off a number of impressive insights about various teams in this year’s NCAA Tournament, Hardaway was asked if he followed the college game more closely than he did the NBA:
“Well you know I have to. My son is 17 years old and he’s being recruited by a lot of teams. So I watch a lot of basketball with him you know to see which school he wants to go to. That’s what I do. I’m a big fan of basketball, period. But you know College Basketball is exciting, and this is an exciting time of year and if you’re not watching it, you’re not a basketball fan.
Who he likes to win it all this year:
“I like Pittsburgh you know because Pittsburgh lost in the Big East Tournament. And I like them to win it all because they can put together a six game win streak and take it.”
