Billy Bob Douchebag

There’s been some strange and uncomfortable interviews over the years.  It seems the weirdest ones, Crispin Glover and most recently Joaquin Phoenix happened on the Late Show with David Letterman.  Good thing Dave is witty enough to handle these situations.

After watching this video from an interview with Billy Bob Thornton on Wednesday, I think we have a new leader in the clubhouse.  Billy Bob Thornton is off the charts bizarre in this interview which is not completely surprising since he used to wear a vial of Angelina Jolie’s blood around his neck,   He was on Canada’s public CBC Radio and QTV with host Jian Ghomeshi to promote his electric hillbilly (their term, not mine) band, The Boxmasters who are on tour with Willie Nelson.  Billy Bob’s answers got more rude and awkward with each question and he couldn’t even answer basic questions.  He gets angry when he’s introduced as an actor, he gets angry when the host says music is a hobby for him, he talks about monsters, and he continually compares himself to Tom Petty.  Here are a few snippets from the interview which is NSFW in two or three places with the word sh*t.  It gets really good around the 5:15 minute mark.

Host:  “You guys formed in the last couple of years, right?”

Billy Bob:  “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Host:  “How so?”

Billy Bob:  “I don’t know what you mean by that.”

Host:  “When did the band form.”

Billy Bob:  “I’m not sure what that means.”
