From Hero to Zero! Doesn’t anyone get it? In the real world, if you retire, you can’t come back and take up space that now belongs to the next person in line. Total Packers Fan, just NOT a Farve fan. I saw through him from years back and saw his arrogance. I say, let the loser go to the Vikings, then perhaps he can really hang his head when he’s booed off the field.

I’ve rooted for the Packers ever since I was a little Wisconsin born & bred kid and for most of my life all I’ve ever known was Favre (25yr old now). I’m glad someone finally put this into perspective.

Favre…go pound sand. You’re dead to me.

I have to agree with most of what Tarkenton says. Brett Favre is quite simply the most overrated player of all time in any sport. That’s not to say that he wasn’t a great player, which he certainly was, but I don’t think any player could possibly be great enough to warrant the amount of media coverage that man gets.

We as sports fans are forever being reminded of the three MVP’s (even though everybody knows that the 3rd one should be sitting on Barry Sander’s mantle) and the superbowl win. People need to realize that all of those things happened over a decade ago. How many times in the past decade has Favre been anything more than an above-average NFL quarterback? Maybe twice, in 2001 and 2007.

The fact of the matter is the Brett Favre hasn’t been a consistent top-5 QB in a long time yet the sports media continues to talk about him like he’s one of the top 2 or 3 QB’s in the game. Maybe in the mid 90’s he was one of the top 2 or 3 but these days I’d question whether he’s even in the top half

Fran’s comments are typical of the kind of jelous, self-centered, loser that he was. The Viking’s fans comments are similar to Fran’s; a group of people who have never experienced true success. They act like they achieved something by losing four Super Bowls by large margins. One of my favorite NFL memories was the “Hail Marry” playoff game where Roger Staubach, a truly great quarterback and individual, beat Tarkington and the wannabe Minnisota Vikings. On one hand I would like to see him come back and succeed where Tarkington never could. The fact is, Farve is still one of the best quarterbacks in the game. On the other hand the people of Minnisota who make such comments of great players like Farve do not deserve him. Just keep reverencing Kapp and Tarkington and continue to be losers.

I agree with Fran. At least he has the balls to say what no one else in the media will. I am tired of this roller coaster ride Favre puts everyone on year in and year out. He has been pulling this “will he retire, will he come back crap” for the last 5 or six seasons. And the media for whatever reason just eats it up. I also agree with “joe” Farve is a prick. He is a glory hound who cares about nothing but himself. I am taking nothing away from Farve in terms of what he has done on the field. His career speaks for itself and he will be a Hall of Famer one day but both he and Marcellus Wiley need to remember Tarkenton is also a HOFamer and he did it in an era when defensive lineman and cornerbacks could get away with alot more than they do now.
