You’ll Never Guess What Brad Childress Got on the Radio to Talk About

Brad Childress has been up all in the media scene during the NFL offseason, for one main reason: Brett Favre. It’s kind of tedious at this point, but it’s not going away, obviously.  And it probably won’t for a while.

Still, Favregate is one of those things that “moves the needle.” Or something like that. Unfortunately, Childress was ‘co-hosting’ KFAN’s show recently, so there wasn’t the typical intensity that goes with harassing a bald-headed, moustached man determined to ruin a team by bringing a quarterback on board who’s too old for his own good given his gunslinging nature.

On Favre’s comments on Joe Buck’s show:

“You know what? I actually did not see him. I was flying at the time … I saw a sound byte and I saw a transcript … I didn’t hear anything that was false. I know he’s not going to play football this year unless he can do it like he’s done in the past. Because it’s folly to say that he’s going to play like Marc Bulger does or Kurt Warner does. He’s going to play like Brett Favre.

On the timing of this being resolved:

“Well, I just think he understands the benefits — and obviously the travails he went through last year without having not been through a full camp — with getting to know players. And the systems will be similar and there will be some of the same language, but the difference is the people.”

On Ray Edwards saying no “prima donna attitude”:

“You know, I did happen to see that, and Ray kind of led himself off the bridge if you watched it. He started letting that lip flap a little bit and he’s the guy who brought it up. I think it was all in jest — defensive lineman by nature generally hate quarterbacks and that’s okay.”
