Keeps continuity. Phil is still in the system with a finger on the pulse, and Kirt is groomed into the job. This is easiest on the players instead of taking Phil out of the loop altogether. It will be like having two head coaches guiding the team that the players know and are familiar with. It also tests the players' ability to handle challenges on their own, a mark of a champion team. This is the best scenario for a chance at a repeat or dominating the NBA for a few years. If it was a choice between losing Phil and keeping him part time, I'd say part time. A great idea.
