Brandon Marshall on with The Michael Irvin Show on 103.3 FM ESPN Radio
On why he is being listed as the Broncos #2 receiver:
“Well you know what? I don’t really have an answer to that one. I pride myself on being a starter and…But I do know that if we want to be successful that we all have to buy into one thing. That is what Coach is teaching us and selling us. If it is right for me to be where I am at right now and that is my job then I am going to have to do it. When it is all said and done I think I will be ok.”
On whether he grabbed Terrence Newman’s jersey while coming off the line on the 51-yard TD catch:
“Umm you know what? I don’t believe that and I am not going to admit to that. At the line of scrimmage, that is our trenches as wide receivers and DB’s so we have that five yard cushion to where he can put his hands on me and I can out my hands on him. I try to use my 6’5” 230 lbs. blessing to my ability. That is what I do. Y ou want to come up and bump me you are going to have to pay for it. Don’t come up and bump me anymore. I can’t say that I learned everything from Mike but I learned something from Rod Smith and one of those things was you beat press not only in the passing game but in the running game. If you are going to press me in the running game then I am going to put my helmet right between your chest.”
On what he thought of the Cowboys defense overall in the game:
“I think they played well. I think they played up to the challenge. I am not going to take anything away from Kyle (Orton) on those plays. He made great throws. It is tough on the NFL to put it on the money every single time and it just happened that on those plays that we scored. But Kyle does a great job in managing the game and making big plays when we need them. He’s got 5 TD’s and 0 INT’s. It takes time when you have new coaches and new players to get that chemistry down. We are not expected that to happen over night but we do know that we have a lot of work to do.”
