While Erin Andrews has been widely known in the sports world as the gorgeous blonde reporter for ESPN, she has also dabbled in a little reality TV as well. Of course Andrews participated in Dancing with the Stars on ABC and performed extremely well. Another reality show on ABC that has had a lot of success is the Bachelor. Two nights ago was the final episode of this season’s series. I don’t know about you, but I was glued to my TV for the finale. It was a compelling two hours with some twists and turns and it finished with Brad Womack proposing to Emily, who he selected to be “the one.” I wasn’t the only one that watched. Erin Andrews also tuned in and while she was watching the episode she admitted to thinking about what it would be like for her to be the next “Bachelorette.” As good as the show is, adding ESPN’s lead sideline reporter, would make ratings go through the roof. Erin Andrews joined KNBR in San Francisco to talk about the NCAA Tournament, whether or not she would like to be the next “Bachelorette,” what she could bring to that show, and who she likes on this season’s Dancing with the Stars.
On what she thought of the Bachelor finale:
“Let’s have a conversation. I e-mailed my publicist in the middle of the show and I was like can you just get me on this thing or what? What are we doing?”
You want to be on the show:
“I’m not saying I want to be on there, but I mean I’m just wondering if I should do it? Should I just do it?”
Whether or not she has actually thought about it?
“I already had it all planned out. My publicist wrote me back right away. I had it all planned out. I don’t like cheesy lines and I don’t like people who are really stupid so I was thinking they could put really nerdy guys on and I could be like are you serious right now with that line. Then my dates wouldn’t be sky-diving or plummeting from buildings. We would go to batting practice and I would see if they could hold their own talking to some of these guys and if they were a total dork it would be like you’re done, you’re out.”
What she thought about Brad Womack on the Bachelor:
“I thought body-wise he brought a lot to the table. I don’t know. I thought he was fine, he was genuine, and I dig Austin Texas. It’s such a difficult situation. I can’t knock him too hard because I have a very good buddy Jesse Palmer and I love him so much. Jesse is one of the funniest people I’ve ever met so you don’t really know how things are edited on that kind of show and things like that.”
On how her burping would go over on TV:
“It’s not really part of my everyday activities. I will say that I am a handful and my lifestyle is very different. I think it would be a really fun challenge for someone. A guy that’s not in the industry, it’s just a different way of life and I think it would be hysterical television because I’m somebody that wears my emotions on my sleeve so if I’m not feeling it I’m just like uh, get out.”
Who she likes on Dancing with the Stars:
“I think because she’s the big star and she got put with my old partner, and because their personalities are going to be hysterical so if they play it right I think Kirstie Alley will probably make it to the finals. You always have to put an athlete in their so I think it could be Sugar Ray (Leonard) or it could be Hines (Ward). I really like Kendra (Wilkinson). She’s actually a really good dancer so I think she could be pretty good too.”
