Prince Amukamara Best Cover Corner Nfl Draft

Prince Amukamara may have had one of the most difficult names to pronounce in this year’s upcoming draft, but don’t let that discourage you when talking about a cover corner who is getting a lot hype surrounding his potential. Amukamara didn’t have an interception in, but it seemed like he never had the ball thrown his way all that often.
The former Nebraska Cornhusker has been projected to go anywhere between picks number ten through twenty of the first round as it will depend on how high Patrick Peterson is taken and the ensuing teams in need of secondary help.

The most up-to-date mock drafts have “The Prince,” destined for the Motor City in Detroit to play alongside former Cornhusker Ndamukong Suh. Amukamara is a playmaker that favors dominating receivers and playing press coverage according to his own admissions on KTAR. Prince Amukamara joined KTAR in Phoenix with Doug and Wolf to discuss his feelings going into the draft, if he’s enjoying the pre-draft process, what he brings to the table, what kind of coverage he prefers to play in and if he was forced to guess right now who does he think he’ll be playing for.

How are you feeling right now going into the draft?

“Well I’m not really too worried about Thursday. I’m sure Wednesday night I probably won’t be able to sleep. I’ll be twisting and turning, but right now I’m just living it day-by-day and just enjoying this experience as much as I can.”

Are you really enjoying the pre-draft experience?

“Yes I’ve been noticing that too and I’ve been doing a lot of first time things. For example I rode a subway for my first time out here and went to my first baseball game, which happened to be the Yankees game, so a very cool experience.”

What do you bring to the table?

“I’m just a player who is going to compete every day, day in and day out. I’m a very physical corner. I love to tackle. I think I’m a one of the best cover corners in the draft and just tell me what to do and I’m going to get the job done. I definitely want to embrace the organization and the NFL.”

Do you like press coverage? Press man coverage? Do you like playing off your wide receiver a little bit?

“I mean when you play off you have a chance to look at the quarterback and make plays on the ball, but if I really just want to dominate a receiver I just get up and press him.”

If you were forced to guess right now who do you think is going to draft you?

“Carolina. [Hosts and Prince Amukamara begin to laugh] No. No. I’m kidding. I mean all the coaches are doing a good job of playing poker and not showing their cards, so it feels like everybody likes you and everybody wants to draft you. No one is really batting their eyelashes or eyes at me more than another.”
