Rodney Harrison and Junior Seau drank Bill Belichick’s Ponce de Leon Kool-Aid. Looks like Fred Taylor is next. One of the more unheralded deals on the first day of free agency was the Patriots signing Fred Taylor to a two year deal. The starting job for the Patriots is wide open between Fred Taylor, Laurence Maroney, Sammy Morris, Kevin Faulk, and Benjarvus Green-Ellis.
Fred Taylor joined Pete Prisco who hosts a show on WFXJ in Jacksonville. Pete also covers the NFL for CBSSports.com.With Taylor’s new contract, he should buy a new phone as his cell phone didn’t have great reception.
On when he finally agreed to the deal:
“It’s been tough trying to hold it in. I agreed awhile ago, but everything had to pass through the league office. You know me, this is my first time at it. I’m not really understanding what I was supposed to do. Feels good to be employed again in this economy. I’ll get ready to pack my things man.”
